Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The operation of the Grade Results platform relies upon the responsible and appropriate conduct of all users. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) establishes the standards for acceptable use of Grade Results services, systems, applications, and networks.

All users are expected to use the platform in a lawful, ethical, secure, and educationally appropriate manner.

1. Educational and Authorized Use

All use of the Grade Results platform must support legitimate educational, instructional, administrative, research, or organizational purposes consistent with the mission of Grade Results and its partner institutions.

Use of the platform must comply with:

  • Applicable local, state, federal, and international laws
  • Institutional policies
  • Licensing agreements
  • Grade Results operational and security requirements

Grade Results reserves the right to prioritize, limit, suspend, or restrict system access to maintain platform security, stability, and availability.

2. System Integrity and Security

Users may not:

  • Disrupt or interfere with system operations
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
  • Bypass security or authentication controls
  • Introduce malware, ransomware, spyware, or harmful code
  • Conduct unauthorized vulnerability scanning or penetration testing
  • Interfere with platform performance or availability
  • Misuse APIs, integrations, or automation tools

Any malicious activity intended to compromise, damage, disable, overload, or exploit the platform or related systems is strictly prohibited.

3. Appropriate Conduct and Content

Users are responsible for all content they upload, transmit, publish, or distribute through the platform.

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior
  • Threats or abusive communications
  • Sharing obscene, pornographic, violent, or unlawful content
  • Distribution of misleading, fraudulent, or malicious content
  • Academic dishonesty, cheating, or manipulation of assessments
  • Misuse of AI-assisted tools for unauthorized academic activities
  • Publication of content that may endanger individuals or public safety

Grade Results reserves the right to remove content that violates this policy or applicable laws.

4. Account Responsibility and Access Control

System accounts are intended solely for the authorized user.

Users may not:

  • Share passwords or login credentials
  • Allow unauthorized individuals to access their account
  • Impersonate another user
  • Leave accounts unattended on shared devices
  • Access, modify, or distribute another user’s information without authorization

Account owners are responsible for all activity occurring under their account credentials.

Institutions are responsible for managing user access rights and permissions within their organization.

5. Privacy and Protection of Personal Information

Users must respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.

Personal information including addresses, phone numbers, student records, credentials, or sensitive data should not be disclosed without proper authorization.

Students should never share personal information with unknown individuals or arrange in-person meetings with online contacts without parent, guardian, or institutional approval.

All users must comply with applicable student privacy and data protection laws, including FERPA and other applicable regulations.

6. Reporting Safety or Security Concerns

Users should immediately report:

  • Suspicious activity
  • Security vulnerabilities
  • Inappropriate content
  • Harassment
  • Unauthorized access
  • Unsafe communications

Reports should be made to their instructor, administrator, or the Grade Results support team.

Grade Results reserves the right to investigate reported incidents and take appropriate corrective actions.

7. Intellectual Property and Copyright

The unauthorized installation, copying, storage, distribution, or use of copyrighted software, educational materials, assessments, or proprietary content is prohibited.

Users must respect:

  • Copyright laws
  • Licensing agreements
  • Trademarks
  • Intellectual property rights

8. Third-Party Services and Integrations

Grade Results may integrate with third-party educational and technology services including SIS platforms, authentication providers, cloud storage systems, communication tools, and content providers.

Users must comply with the terms and policies of integrated third-party services when using those integrations.

9. Accessibility and Inclusion

Grade Results is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all users. We strive to support equitable access to educational resources through adaptable, user-friendly, and accessible technology solutions.

10. Monitoring and Enforcement

Grade Results reserves the right to:

  • Monitor system usage for security and compliance purposes
  • Investigate suspected policy violations
  • Remove prohibited content
  • Suspend or terminate accounts
  • Cooperate with legal or regulatory authorities when required

Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, suspension of access, institutional reporting, or legal action where applicable.

11. Policy Updates

Grade Results may update this Acceptable Use Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, security practices, legal requirements, or operational needs.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
